General

1. Install FileMaker Go 12 or later on your iPad or iPhone/iPod

FileMaker Go is Apples mobile devise app for all FileMake databases and apps. It is like iTunes for music, you need FileMaker Go in order to view FileMaker apps. FileMaker is a 100% Apple owned application and offers fantastic functionality for data driven apps. It is 100% free and available from the App Store. To download FileMaker Go 12 on any of your Apple mobile devices

  • go to the App Store.
  • Search for FileMaker Go 12.
  • Select FileMaker Go 12 for iPad or iPhone from the search list Tap Install
  • Once the download is completed, Tap OPEN. The Getting Started window will open.
  • It is recommended that you go through the FileMaker Go tour, as it will help you get the most out of your apps.
  • To close the FileMaker window. tap the little square in the top left hand corner of the app. The window will minimize and display a close icon. You can now close all the windows one by one by clicking the little close icon.

2. Understand the FileMaker Go Menu

To access the FileMaker Go menu, tap the FileMaker Go icon on your device’s home screen. The FileMaker Go menu opens.

The menu consists out of two main areas, the Files on Device area on the left and the Remote Files and Hosts on the right.

All the apps that have been installed on your device will display on the left.

The My Time Billing app will display here along with some free apps that were automatically installed when you downloaded FileMaker Go.

Open The My Time Billing app by tapping it once.

3. Install a Business-Card-App® on your iPad or iPone/iPod

To install an AddApps Business-Card-App® on your apple device:

  • Open you email client on the device you want to install the app on.
  • Open the AddApps email with the app attachment.
  • Tap the attachment to start the download.
  • When the download is completed tap the attachment again. An option box appears
  • Select Open in FileMaker

4. Get to know FileMaker Go 12

Going through the Getting Started file, will help you to get the most out of all your FileMaker apps and is highly recommended. To open this file

  • Select FileMaker Go from your home window. The FileMaker Go Menu appears. It consists out of two sided. The Files on Device side on the left and the Remote Files and Hosts on your right.
  • Select the Getting Started file from the Files on Device side.
